"Some good localised, typical species for Bogs, guessing they will be known from the Reserve. Small Seraphim and Pale Eggar the stars. Maybe the most significant is the massive count of Heath Rustic / White-line Dart, way the highest count I have had from the other Cumbrian Bog sites, reflects the health and good condition of the site, also biomass available to insectivorous birds.
I think both the localised and habitat specific bog species and the massive abundance of some other species reflects the excellent quality of the habitat and all of the hard work that professionals and volunteers have put in over the years."
