Dormant life is starting to reappear as we head towards spring. Buds are forming on trees and snowdrops and crocuses are bursting out of the ground.
We finished our final gorse coppicing work party on the saltmarsh on a beautiful day and had a roaring fire.
Other winter work has involved taking down some trees that were overhanging the visitors path.
and trimming back the willow that's started to encroach on the entrance to the hide.
If you have been to visit recently you may have noticed that the clay dabbin now has a door in addition to the window.
There have been plenty of linnets, reed buntings and skylarks seen on the arable counts and a ring tail hen harrier has been seen frequently from the hide. The goose counts will also start again this month and the pintail, wigeon, teal and shoveler are still enjoying the flooded fields.
