This week we carried out one of our Nightjar surveys at Broadwater Warren as well as our Nightjar guided walk. 6-7 males were heard churring across the reserve and several were seen displaying including carrying out their wing claps. The best place to stand and see them is at the cross roads just north of decoy pond.

A family of 6 Woodlark were seen today on the newly cleared area of heath near the car park.

A firecrest was heard earlier in the week behind decoy pond. Several garden warblers continue to sing across the site including one near the stream east of decoy pond. The grey wagtails continue to be seen around the pond as well.

Yellowhammers, Tree pipits and Stone chats continue to be seen and heard across the main heath.

Other notable sightings this week include several adders including 2 black ones, Painted lady butterfly, golden ringed dragonfly, downy emerald dragonfly, 4 spotted chaser and several Pipistrelle bats around the cross roads
