Another good set of results on an extremely hot day! We saw 8 species in total with 2 new species for this year.

At the Decoy Pond we are lucky to have both Downy Emerald Dragonflies and Brilliant Emerald Dragonflies. This photo is of a Downy Emerald, it gets its name from its obviously downy thorax. You can look out for these on the east side of the pond as the males perform fast patrols along the edge of the water approximately 1 metre above the water. Emerald Dragonflies can be seen flying through to August.
