Flood Update 31/10/23
High tides compounded by high freshwater flow from a swollen river system three days in a row has resulted in high water levels covering all trails and pathways at the reserve. This means the reserve will remain closed for the rest of this week and possibly the weekend too. Water is currently about knee height and will take some time to dissipate especially considering the water table is likely to be elevated at the moment.
Please note: In these conditions and during flood events at Blacktoft it is difficult to predict the flow of water on this natural flood plain and situations can change rapidly. Whilst flooding can be beneficial for the habitat and wildlife there is a very real danger to life for humans. Please do not ignore advice from staff and heed our closed signage saying we are closed!
We can't wait to see you all back at the reserve when it is safe to do so. We'll be keeping you updated here and via our usual social media channels (click the logos below).
