The kids are now back on the cliffs. Young gannets are swarming back to the reserve - and puzzling one or two of our visitors.

 

With their black and white "piano" wings, the youngsters leave some of our visitors scratching their heads, puzzling out if they are actually gannets.

 

Yes they are. And they'll soon be setting up their own clubs. A gannet takes at least five years to reach maturity and during this time the "teenagers" live in their own groups, known as clubs. A bit like a bird youth club, really.
