There are going to be quite a few rare birds in Bridlington over the week of 17-23 June.

The annual Artwaves festival has introduced a bird trail to this year's programme and is encouraging visitors and locals alike to follow it all around the town.

The birds have been decorated by local artists and each has its own distinctive design - from realistic to abstract.

According to RSPB data, 40 million birds in the UK have been lost in the last 50 years and 56% of wildlife species in the UK are in decline. This kind of happy initiative can help draw attention to their plight and deliver strong conservation messages.

And it's sure to be fun too.
