A fledged Razorbill chick reported during the week, amazing! Now is just a fabulous time to visit as every parent is fully intent on getting their chick to that stage, so they are all hugely busy bringing in beaks full of food. Look out in particular for flying Razorbills carrying tiny bright silvery fish, or of course for Puffins with beaks crammed full of Sandeels.

On the way to the viewpoints amidst the carpets of Red Campion, take time out to look for our orchids. Spikes of Northern Marsh and Pyramidal occur each year and now a Common Spotted Orchid has seemingly joined them. Each are incredibly beautiful close up, but do take care not to trample the surrounding plants. A personal favourite is the Bee Orchid and a few always flower somewhere on the reserve - just a waiting game to find out where!
