Just a quick one for today to let everyone know that we are delighted to have the first lapwing chicks on site for the year! I counted 4 chicks, 2-3 days old on the edges of the wet scrapes viewable from the platform, there are however more hiding somewhere in the grass! As they grow, they will be easier to see, so keep an eye open from the platform for them. There are now 12 pairs of lapwings breeding within the predator fenced areas - more than we have ever had and a pair of curlew displaying in the area - lovely to see and hear.

These are all early signs of success for the fence, so fingers crossed that the birds can follow this through with successful fledging.
