We are sorry that the views from some of the hides are not as good as they could be at the moment. There has been a huge growth in wetland plants this year and they are now stretching further than ever into the mud and water. Unfortunately at the moment we do not have the right equipment to deal with this efficiently or safely. However we should have the right machinery to cut the wetland plants back next year
There are some great birds out on the Haugh just now, with ruff, little ringed plover, dunlin, green sandpiper and plenty of lapwing all having been on show over the last few days. Although the bird watching is not quite so easy, it is well worth the extra effort!
