Welcome to the Arne 2014 Buzzard Cam Forum!
After a 3 year wait we have nesting buzzards. We have a least 2 eggs. The first of these was laid on Tuesday 4th May with the second appearing on Thursday.
Buzzards incubate for about 34 days so by my reckoning we should have the first chick in the first week of May. I am going to be the first to guess at the 4th.
If any one else wants to guess dates please feel free.
Also it would be great to record interesting happenings from the nest especially as we get close to hatching time.

Great hols thanks Wendy in South Devon, watching Dippers, Cirl Buntings but the greatest excitement was yesterday morning out on a walk with a small group not too far from home and seeing a Short-Toed Eagle!
Chicks looking gorgeous this morning :-)
Sounds like a good holiday PW ... these chicks have changed so much
MW - just read that you are leaving Arne, hope you weren't going to slope off without a goodbye post on here!! Also, update on Kestrels please?
Chicks looking almost fully dressed this morning as they are all lying down :-)
Wendy there is sad news about the Kestrels which was reported on John's blog recently as the eggs failed this year and it was thought to be a different female this time and the eggs were a much paler colour than before and she was apparently incubating much longer than she should have been - just relaying what I can remember from the blog :-(
Oh dear PW, that is a blow! Did I tell you that my Kestrels here did a bunk just before nesting & hope that nothing nasty happened! First time in my 8 years here there is no nest!!!
Yes, sorry to hear that Wendy :-(
Look how big now!!
At last a chance to post a big THANKYOU WENDY for your coverage of this cam. They are doing well and it's wonderful to read your reports and pics, as I can't watch the cam due to having too many others. It was a hard choice to make though!
I also meant to say sorry about your kestrels at home. I followed their story last year, but chickened out when things started to go wrong. But I do remember your rescue of George and how wonderful it was. You must have many happy memories of him:-)
Thank you M - here are two of the best pics of Buzzard chicks I've managed for a while - how huge are they??
Well, only one actually as RSPB pic upload facility has gone into meltdown!!!
Yes, I do miss my Kestrels so much, just had the one random visit from a male a couple of weeks ago! George was a delight & I truly hope that he is well still! Maybe next year it will all kick off again?
Oh, jolly good, it is feeling better now! Lol
