The air was full of song where ever you were on the reserve today; Blackcap, Dartfords, Tree Pipit, Willow Warbler and even the harder to spot Lesser Whitethroat! Again a good movement of birds moving through the reserve with more Redstart being seen and reports of a Whinchat on the Heath along with the commoner Stonechat. The woodland were full of the Yaffle of the Green Woodpecker and the drumming of the Great Spotted Woodpecker. Sandwich Terns dive bombed in the harbour where the Spoonbill were feeding amoung the large number of Black Tailed Godwit all looking rather dapper in their summer dress. Still no sign of Hobby but far from lacking raptors with Kestrel, Buzzard, Peregrine Falcon and Sparrowhawk all being seen on the prowl.
