Another busy day at Arne in the sunshine saw the car parks resident Great Spotted Woodpeckers excavating their favourite nesting branch in full view of the public. A good day to see Raptors displaying and on the look out for a bite to eat, with pairs of Peregrines, Kestrels, Buzzards and Marsh Harriers all being seen over Coombe Heath, whilst emerging Sand and Common Lizards, and Adders were doing their best to stay off the menu. Surprises over Arne Bay where a female Long Tailed Duck and a lingering pair of Brent Geese were seen for the 5th day...perhaps they just love Arne so much they can't bear to leave?
