My first Arne sightings post...How exciting!
Spring is slowly but surely making its way to Arne, with a glorious week of sunshine this week attracting and keeping a whole range of birds on the Reserve. The Osprey seems to feeding quite happily every morning in the same tree across the way at Middlebere. 1000 + Blacktailed Godwits in summer plumage is quite a sight too! Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and blackcap can be heard signing from the carpark along with a Tawny Owl!!
Dartford Warblers can be seen daily up on Coombe heath some carrying nesting material, so too can Stonechat.
Late news from yesterday, a White Stork was seen flying over Arne Moors in the evening, and has been relocated today just east of Wareham.
Red Kite too has made a few appearences on the reserve in the last few days, with a large influx across the whole of the south coast. Upto 12 spoonbill are also in and around Poole Harbour.
