The Farm Wildlife partnership launched revised and improved advice for conservation on farmland in 2016. The advice focuses on six key elements for farmers and land managers to consider when they are thinking about maximising the conservation value of the farm. These six elements are common across all farming systems in any part of the UK, and include the following:

  •  Looking after established habitats on the farm
  •  Maximising the value of boundary features such as hedges, ditches and dry stone walls
  •  Providing wet habitats
  •  Restoring and establishing flower-rich habitats
  •  Providing seed-rich habitats
  •  Maximising the conservation value of the farmed area itself

We have been working hard to improve the website, making it easier to find the information you need to provide the very best habitat management for wildlife alongside your farming operations. Our new-look website is now live and we'd love to hear what you think.

We're also very keen to hear your own experiences of conservation management - please do drop us an email at admin@farmwildlife.info if you'd like to share your knowledge and help others benefit from your experience.
