124,655 is a lot of Christmas wishes, but it shows the support we’ve had for wildlife-friendly farming over the past few weeks and months. Thank you if you’ve added your voice. 

And to give you an idea of the variety of support we’ve had, here’s just a few stats for you:

  • This autumn, close to 23,000 people have told us they think government should invest in farming that creates a countryside richer in nature.  
  • In England, over the last two and a half years, we’ve seen 47,258 messages to UK and EU governments calling for a better Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
  • 40,253 votes have been cast for outstanding farmers in our annual Nature of Farming Awards.
  • Almost 10,000 people have donated to our farmland advisory work.
  • Our volunteers have spent at least 19,300 hours surveying wildlife on farms, to help 965 farmers identify the best schemes for their wildlife.

But now is a crucial time for wildlife - the Prime Minister could cut the life from the countryside. 

This weekend, David Cameron has to decide how to spend £600 million on farming and we want to ensure as much of this money as possible helps farmers save our threatened wildlife. Join us in reminding him that public money should pay for public goods – ask him to make the right decision.
