Walking through St James's Park this morning, in the drizzle, I heard a screech and looked up to see a ring-necked parakeet flying over. These beautiful small parrots, whose natural home is in India, are getting commoner all the time in southern England. They are very attractive birds. But let's hope they don't cause problems with our native wildlife.
