Blogger: Sarah Green, Project Coordinator - Natura People Partnership Project

We are very pleased to announce that Agellus Hotels have become the first corporate members for Minsmere!

Corporate membership for Minsmere is a new initiative we have developed for Suffolk businesses (or perhaps businesses beyond Suffolk who particularly Minsmere).  We have been offering opportunities for businesses to support the whole RSPB for a number of years now, but have decided that now is the time to specialise.  If you run a business and feel a particular affinity for Minsmere you can now support the reserve directly.

Agellus Hotels operate four hotels across East Anglia, and the two they have chosen for membership are The Westleton Crown (only a mile away from Minsmere) and the Ship at Dunwich.  The Natura People partnership stayed at the Crown in November for our six monthly project management meetings, and I can confirm that it’s lovely!  The building is a beautiful old coaching inn and the food is glorious, with a good vegetarian selection (not something I am accustomed to saying!).

We’d like to thank Agellus Hotels for supporting us and our fight to save Suffolk’s wildlife.

So, what do businesses get if they choose to join us? Benefits vary according to the level of support given, but generally we can offer the following:

Membership certificate

Free gift such as a feeding station, wildlife book and Birds magazine

Pin badge box

Reserve passes

Invites to networking events

Wildlife walks and talks

Use of reserve meeting room facilities

Team challenge days

VIP safari at Minsmere

Publicity through our social media platforms

Recognition on our website

At the time of writing RSPB Minsmere and RSPBintheEast share 1341 facebook fans and 6444 twitter followers.  The blogs get on average 1344 hits a month.  If you want to demonstrate your support for nature and raise your profile amongst our visitors, corporate membership can help you do this.

Team challenges, use of reserve facilities, wildlife walks and talks and the safari can be used how you like – to reward your staff or as an activity with a difference for your business partners and customers.
