The idea to build a major airport in the Thames is nothing new - the first suggestions came just after the Second World War.  The latest wheeze would see four runways built on Kent's Isle of Grain, spilling over into the estuary itself with supporting infrastructure cutting through Kent and Essex.  The concept is in the public mind now as a means of forcing the agenda for a Government review of aviation that will kick off in March.

There will be future opportunities for you to have your say - but you can start now - read about the case here and do, please, consider helping. Here's how.

  • Excellent email campaign Andre. It allows us ALL to make our voices heard. Emails go to the Chancellor, George Osborne MP and a copy isl also sent to the Secretary of State for Transport, Justine Greening MP, and our local MP's wherever we live. Thank you

  • I feel the contemplation of building more airports ANYWHERE demonstrates that collectively we haven't figured out that we already consume and populate the planet beyond sustainability: the first casualties of this are birds and other creatures as they "make way" for us.
