6 mini dams went in yesterday through the Cairngorms Futurescapes Ruthven moor wetland restoration project. The materials were kindly paid for by the Cairngorms National Park Authority. It won’t change the world, but it is a solid example of what Futurescapes is achieving in the mature phase of partnership working building up through Futurescapes. The photo attached is of the Inverness College team that did the hard graft. Over time the vegetation in the wetter areas will change, and increase habitat diversity potentially benefitting a wide range of species.

There are many more small projects like this in the pipeline that Cairngorms Futurescape is building towards - many small things make a big difference across a landscape.
