‘Fracking’ has been headline news locally and nationally for months – and throughout the debate we’ve been very clear that we don’t think the regulation around this developing industry was adequate to protect our finest wildlife sites and landscapes.

Yesterday’s debate on the Infrastructure Bill took significant steps towards addressing this important issue. In particular the Government confirmed that there will be a ban on fracking in National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
