So after a break in proceedings over the summer we arrived back at Folkestone yesterday morning expecting to hear additional ornithological evidence assessing the potential noise and visual impact on the Special Protection Area (SPA), however things did not go quite to plan.

New documents were introduced by the airport just before proceedings started and a request was made to recall and question a witness about habitats within the protected area and the specific species they support.

After the issue had been batted back and forth between parties the Inspector adjourned the session to allow the experts to see if they could agree any common ground.

By the afternoon it was decided that a new site visit was required, with bird expert witnesses from both sides present.

They were due to report back this morning to see if we are able to proceed with agreement between parties............................
