Did you get one for Christmas?

I had the pleasure of writing an article for it – about our nature reserves.  My brief was to look at both their role in the future of tackling the threats and problems faced by nature and the way in which we (and as I’m a regular visitor to them as well) engage with them.

On the first question, I conclude that nature reserves are an essential part of future approaches to nature conservation – they won’t do the job on their own but they should be at the heart of significant progress to tackle the issues at the landscape scale.

Welcoming visitors is very important both to us and we want to get better, whether our visitors are highly independent birders or a family trying out a nature reserve for the first time.

At the end of the article I ask for any feedback – and we genuinely welcome comments and constructive criticism, if you want you can add a comment here.

And if you fancy getting out over the holidays – do visit one of our great reserves.
