I saw it out of the corner of my eye. A fin breaking the water about 50 or 60 yards off the point. “Did you see that!” I said to my wife. She hadn’t, she’d been facing in another direction. I was certain I’d seen it but we waited for 5 minutes without anything else appearing & I began to doubt my own eyes.
But then a squeal from my wife & as I turned to face her I saw she was pointing out to sea. “I saw it, I saw it!” She cried. A fin again came out of the water & then another & another & then they were breaking out of the surface 10, 15, 20 at a time. A school of Porpoise, Dolphin? We didn’t really know what they were but they were majestic & stunning as the sun caught the spray flung from the broaching grey/black backs & fins. A fabulous day out in North Wales.
