Surely there can't be a world record for the number of mobile phones donated to charity in one week?? Don't you believe it of course there is: 3,883 to be exact.

Here at the RSPB we love a challenge and so we aim to smash the world record by collecting over 5,000 old or redundant mobiles between Monday 7th and Sunday 13th February 2011.  Surprise, surprise we need YOUR help to do it.  Clean out that old draw in the desk, look under the sofa and find that old mobile you last used two years ago and has been replaced by a nice shine new iPhone (or similar).  Get your friends and family to do the same.

Breaking the record would be a fantastic achievement and not only would we all have the satisfaction of knowing we are 'record breakers' to paraphrase Roy Castle but it would also raise over £12,000 for our conservation work.

You can donate your old mobile(s) via any of the means below :
by using the special 'World Record' freepost envelope supplied with the February issue of Birds magazine (out now - see page 83 also)
taking it along to collection points at RSPB shops
or by phoning 08451 302010 to request special freepost envelopes

Log on to www.recyclingappeal.com/rspb if you need more information.

Good mobile phone hunting and fingers crossed we break that record.
