Last September we advertised some opportunities on the Countryside Job Service website called “It’s not just about getting muddy at the RSPB” which could have easily been written today at RSPB Cors Ddyga! As well as plenty of outdoor and practical volunteering roles there are hundreds of different ways you can get involved with our work and you don’t have to be an RSPB member or a bird expert to donate your time and talents. As we mentioned in the article, “whether it's face painting, greeting visitors, media work, learning and development or office admin we have volunteering roles that can be tailored to people’s individual skills, interests and circumstances.”

Our volunteering roles offer you the chance to meet new people, learn new skills, improve your CV, see and help fantastic wildlife, get fit, or perhaps work towards a career in conservation. Whatever you decide to do, you will be helping us to save nature and we have plenty of diverse opportunities on offer for you at RSPB Cors Ddyga. Please click here to see the entire article and read some interesting stories from some volunteers who never get muddy!

And if you can only spare a quick hour then you can also get involved with our micro-volunteering which is a fast growing trend, but what is it? Does it suit you? Maybe you are already doing it! Have a look to this video for more information:

The RSPB offers all kinds of short term volunteering opportunities which require small commitments and are easy to complete. Each small action can make a huge difference when combined with a massive amount of people doing the same thing. A fantastic example of this is the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch where you can spend one hour counting the birds and other wildlife in your garden. The real value comes when hundreds of thousands of results are added together to give a UK-wide picture.
