18/10/12 RSPB volunteers and staff stepped up for nature by calling on the Treasury to acknowledge that the green economy is working. The stunt was organised through the SCC (Stop Climate Choas) coalition of charities and organisations.The message was reinforced by CBI’s announcement that around a third of UK economic growth came from green business in 2011/12. The coalition is also calling on the Prime Minister to show his commitment to tackling climate change by including emissions from shipping and aviation in the UK’s next carbon budget – as recommended by the Committee for Climate Change earlier this year (2012)
