I've just recieved this fabulous photo from Lesley Nundy in our Youth and Education Team, and had to share!

It was taken at the Thriplow Daffodil weekend earlier this year.  Fowlmere RSPB Wildlife Explorer members had a great time promoting their club and the RSPB Wildlife Explorer "I’m on the Sea's Side" campaign.  They created this giant puffin and raised an impressive £150, getting visitors to write messages of hope onto paper puffin feathers.

People stopped to listen to what the children were telling them about the campaign and then wrote their messages – here are a few of our favourites:

  •  I like the seaside so lets look after it!!
  •  Please save the dolphins, thank you
  •  I hope the world will have no pollution (Toby)
  • Save the seaside wildlife!!! I love the seaside wildlife!!!
  • Most of the world is covered in the sea, and sea levels are rising.  We should protect the sea as we rely on it a lot (Steph)
  • The beach is one of my favourite places so I will do all I can to save it (Charlotte)
  • We have sea all around us now – beach quality getting better all the time.  Lets all help to keep it that way! Leave the plastic bags at home – or recycle them – but don’t let them blow away and become dangerous turtle food.  Enjoy the sea and keep the wildlife safe (Celia)
  • I love the sea, why ruin it (Gemma)
  • Reduce, re-use, recycle, repair (Sam)
  • The sea takes up most of our planet and to make it a nicer place for us and animals we need to do our part in helping
  • Please preserve the beautiful coast! And the Oceans!
  • The seaside rocks and so do the wildlife
  • Keep plastic bags out of our seas!

Our Wildlife Explorers are all aged 4-19, and they are an inspiration to us all.
