Introducing the ‘cappuffinccino’!   A deliciously frothy coffee with a cute little chocolate puffin sprinkled on the top.   These are being sold across Bridlington to celebrate the return of the puffins to RSPB Bempton Cliffs.

There’s been a tremendous response to cappuffinccinos – around 30 cafes and pubs have signed up to serve them (you can see a full list here, and in Bridlington Tourist Information Centre).  It’s a great way for the reserve to let visitors and locals alike know that the puffins are making themselves at home again on the cliffs – especially as so many were lost in the recent bad weather.

Richard Burton first used the stencil in his teashop and gallery in Buckton, just down the road from the nature reserve.  He told us ‘The tricky bit was creating the bird’s shape in relief so it was recognisable.  But we’ve now cracked it and we’re happy to spread the joy of a cappuffinccino around the town.’

Well done Richard for coming up with a fun and quirky way of raising awareness about our wonderful wildlife, and drawing attention to the town too.

Anyone else wishing to serve them to their customers can contact the RSPB on 01262 851533 for a stencil.
