A few from Abberton Reservoir today.

It was a slightly misty day when Limpy and I arrived at Abberton Reservoir for the first time this year - but I must say that I rather liked the effect of it.  There was certainly a nice variety of birds about:

These black-headed gulls gave the impression they were playing piggy-back!

All hell breaks loose as the bird with the food tries to get away.  Nice to see a mix of gulls, including the Common!

This lovely Canada goose demonstrates the importance of eating your greens.

There were lots of lovely waggies about - this one looked like he was stressing about the possibility of being trodden on by the Canada geese!

A gorgeous mallard pair head to the water.

This is the first time I've seen a chiffchaff this close to the water.

This handsome crow was surprisingly happy to pose for me!

A nice fly past

Flaunting the lovely sheen of his feathers.

A flight of mallards.

Enjoy!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
