I was happily pottering about at a very sunny Felixstowe Ferry today with my camera - I was just starting to head back to the car when I noticed an almighty kerfuffle of gulls at the river mouth so I decided to investigate. It never occurred to me that the gulls might just get a little excited when one of the Ferry's small fishing boats brings a suitable haul back! I've never sat and watched this before - it was brilliant:
That bird came close!
Uh-oh - he's spotted a camera pointing in his direction!
The kerfuffle continues!
Unloading the goodies to bring ashore.
I hope you've all enjoyed looking at these as much as I enjoyed taking them!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
You should try being aboard the boat next time. That would be insane! Great sequence of photos.

That would probably be a bad idea - I have an intolerance to fish! Glad you like the photos.

The gulls always know when the boats are due. Lovely captures, Clare.
Fab captures C, bet it was noisy!!

"When the boat comes in". Remember that TV series from way back when ....... but you are probably too young. Very nice sequence of shots, Clare.

Great photos Clare. The Gulls certainly seem to know that an easy meal might be available. Lovely to see. I really need to try to get to the coast more often.
