I wanted to let you know about the different activities that we are running over the summer holidays (26 July - 31 August).

We have a variety of different activities for all age groups. Unless stated otherwise: you can just turn up on the day, the activities are £1 per child and free for accompanying adults.

Every Tuesday morning, 11 am-12 noon, children over the age of 5 can join in Active Adventures! There will be something different every week - heading off on a scavenger hunt, orienteering or maybe exploring off the beaten track.

The under 5's can have fun on Wednesday mornings, 11 am- 12 noon, on Mud Pie Mayhem. Join us to play with some messy natural materials - make mud pies and magic potions with natural ingredients. Best of all, we'll clear up the mess!

On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, 1-2 pm, children of all ages can join us on a Minibeast Hunt! Children of all ages love minibeasts and bugs! Join us on a stroll on the reserve and get up close to our smallest residents!

If your child loves bening creative then they'll enjoy our Make It! crafty sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, 2.30-3.30 pm. Children of all ages can make something lovely to take home!

On Thursday's, from 10 am, everyone can become Pond Detectives to find out what lurks beneath our ponds and ditches. Grab a net (one of ours, you don't need to bring one) and join us for some water investigations. There will be someone on hand to help you learn more about what you find. This event is free!

11-16 year olds can become a warden for the day, getting hands dirty taking part in hands on practical work. Teenagers will spend the afternoons with the RSPB wardens here at Rainham, find out what they do and get involved in giving nature a home. Activities in The Warden Experience include: cutting and raking, planting, making signs, and helping survey our water vole population. This event is free, 1-4 pm on 5, 13, 19 and 27 August.

From Wednesday 23 July until Sunday 31 August the whole family can take part in the Free Family Fun Trail - pick up an adventure trail sheet from reception and find the clues around the reserve. Try and find all the clues to help you solve the mystery!
