2nd eggs hatch faster than first eggs. In 2006 at Bassenthwaite there were no chicks at dusk on Friday 26th May and two at dawn on Saturday 27th May
See this link
Last year at Manton bay there were no chicks at dawn and two at dusk.
The stats site show how first eggs take longer to hatch normally.

Awww! I just watched the video of yesterday's tiny little thing
Good news from Glaslyn, the female's devotion to the eggs has paid off so far.
Is there a webcam on this nest? I can't seem to find it if there is.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

There is one but it is very low tech and may not be working. See Glaslyn webcam
Thankyou Tiger.
You're right about it not working!

Am I right in thinking that after a wait of 6 years No-ring and XS had that one successful year last year and neither of them have returned in 2012?
Great news about the 2nd egg at GLASYLN.
Interesting tweet regarding Black 80
