Happy New Week! Last week's Weekly Chat thread is HERE.
The code for this week's Weekly Chat thread is WC110813 (in case you ever need to find it using the search box).
(WC stands for Weekly Chat. 11 is the day, 08 is the month, and 13 is the year. I will always follow this format.)
Don't forget to watch for the Perseid Meteor Shower tonight and tomorrow night. If you have cloudy skies, you can watch the online webcasts. See my post at the end of last week's chat thread.
Sending good energy to Margo, Patricia, NiteOwl, Buzz, and anyone else who is dealing with adversity.
I haven't seen Lynette posting for a while. Lynette, I hope you have recovered well from your operation!!!
Also, sending a shout out to Auntie in Finland, who's probably working very hard at her career, and to DJoanS -- also to Caerann in Chicago (I thought of her this week).
Afternoon all,
AQ :Thanks for the duck pictures. A bit different from the selection here.
We are just back from Stamford where we had a wander round the shops and Lady P bought yet another handbag and I bought a packet of Niger seeds. Just shows where our priorities lie. LOL
Lots of traffic heading up the A1 so I expect the Birdfair at Rutland will be mobbed today. We had a couple of heavy showers at Stamford but it was dry when we arrived at the Elton Garden Store for lunch. Stii dry now but windy and dull.
Lots of goldfinches around again today. Here is a selection of 6 juveniles on the ground:

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Glad you liked it Clare
Alan - we visited Stamford for the first time recently, it really is a nice place. I love the fenland towns.
Woke early, heard the dawn chorus. I'm ready for day trip, but the weather . . . expecting 15 max, rain, hail. Hope they're wrong.
Blimey, AQ. Won't stop you from taking your usual great pictures though, i'm sure. Have a good day. Isn't it strange to think that the sun rising down there has just sunk below our horizon a couple of hours ago! (Hope you see it today!)
