this is my first post so fingers crossed, mostly my sightings of bird & wildlife are made on my daily dog walking duties however this somewhat poor photo is of one of numerous sparrowhawks which visit the garden feeders in search of sparrows, of which we are inundated with, this one flashed across the garden and straight into the hedge in search of a meal but reappeared unlucky then sat a top the hedgerow rearranging his feathers looking straight at me through the kitchen window ; i cannot tell if this is a male or female had one visit the other day with white flecking in its plumage any ideas
