Hi guys ~ at last the 'siskin' have arrived in my neck of the world [warwick]. I have been watching and waiting for a week or two but nothing until today. Terrible, terrible light but he is No. 1.
Have a good day,
DavidM

I haven't seen a siskin this winter yet. Can usually hear them before I even look. Thanks David.
Beautiful little bird David, and well caught. Thank you.
My one and only siskin arrived last August suffering from trichmonias (spelling??). He died the following day. I did all the recommended actions and reported it to the authorities. I haven't had one since.
Cheers, Linda.

Hi David, that's great news. We get them in the garden, if I put food on the path, but they haven't yet ventured into the yard where my feeders are. Maybe they will one day. Thanks for sharing yours.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hi David, I haven't seen any yet this winter down here (Berks). I don't normally get them until much later - say Feb or March. Such attractive little birds. I live in hope. Nice to see yours.
TJ

Hi TJ, I guess that means I should be looking out any day now then - unless they fly straight over me and head on to you!

Hi Squirrel, as you know we get all the best birds (except grey wags) here in the Royal County. If I see them first I'll ask them to go back to you.
Thanks, Buzzard.
You made me think and I have looked in my last years photos and see the first Siskin arrived on the 5th February in a snow storm. So perhaps this one is early!
Lovely to hear, David! I have the odd one here and there very very rarely (always female, strangely enough), but yesterday (Friday 22nd January 2010) I had five females and one male turn up all at once!! They have returned today too, I have taken a few photgraphs, but they stay to the far corner of the garden where it's quite dark and not within decent picture quality range of my shabby old camera!

Thanks, but it looks like Anna has got them all..... unless Buzzard knows differently! LOL
