Anyone else noticed the number of Buzzards on Poles over the past week
On New Years Day on a 50 mile drive we had 32, and locally the numbers have been surprising. We always have good numbers in the areas but never as obvious from poles and trees. No thermals to aid hovering???.
Its been a joy to see them at such close quarters
Haha yeah I've seen a few sitting on posts lately, they've been arguing a lot lately too!

You are lucky Susan I've not seen a Buzzard let alone one on a pole - come to that I've not seen a pole lately either (really must my eyes tested again!)

LOL Kezmo. The only buzzards I have seen were in falconry places. I must learn to look up when I'm out and about.
Cheers, Linda.

I echo Sparrow - word for word! LOL
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

We saw three buzzards last Sunday on the South Downs which were soaring overhead but a fourth was sitting high on a tree, which was only visible through the binoculars.
Yes, seen lots of perched buzzards this last week!

Hi I agree, there seem to be a good population of buzzards at the moment. Everytime we go for a drive in the countryside we see lots. Especially around Shropshire. Sometimes they sit on top of hedgerows, I saw one close up doing this a few weeks ago, it took my breath away. I see some circling over Wrens Nest Nature Reserve sometimes when I am leaving work.
Lol, Kezmo x
One flew out of thick trees in front of me on Sunday when I was on my way to the M6...I nearly didn't make it to the M6, nearly crashed the car! Oooops...
