Oh my gosh - I can't believe those Blue Tits came right down to the feeder with Kate Humble so close!
Mine would never do that for me. Only my quiet robin comes within 1.5-2 metres of me.
Do you think they were male Blue Tits & in the Elite Males Love Kate Humble Fan Club that a few men I know are in?
I wish I had got an owl out of my Christmas crackers, silly plastic toys and a bottle opener was all I got :-(
What were your favourite parts of the show?
I'd love a date with Chris Packham walking around looking for Gos Hawks - (sorry Birdman :-S)
I'd take Martin out for a stroll in the Countryside anyday. Ahem.
Did you notice when Kate was outside she had no make up on, but when inside she was fully made up.!!
Might start my own cone collection now. :-)
I think the best bits for me were the Knots - Wow! really wanted to be there. Also the beaver - what a lovely success story to find them this side of the pond.
A friend of mine has cones galore in her garden and gives them away to another friend of mine who has an open fire - I think I might have to confiscate them in the future so that I can entice the woodpecker into my garden to stay. Never realised cones were part of their food choice!

Hi Juno
I have to say I like Kate made up, or not. A fine example of a person who is a wildlife presenter at her best.
She is a great presenter, and I have heard of people who have met her in real life, and she is really interested in what you have to say! A rare commodity in presenter who are naturally themselves, and do not pose, and strut for the hell of it.
Martin just seems to fit in somewhere - not sure where though! He is a studio man and rarely out. So yes a country walk would do him a power of good any day.

Hi Blackbird, almost Happy New Year.
I hope my 1st post didn't imply I dislike her in anyway, As I think she's fabulous, her enthusiasm is so infectious. I think she is a great asset to the RSPB as a President.
She always comes across well on the podcasts, and I would really love to meet her one day.
In fact she is on my list of people who I want to have dinner with, right in between Sir David Attenborough and Sir Terry Pratchett.
:-)
I know you do not dislike her at all. Who can if you like wildlife.
Having Kate as a presenter, she is a fabulous person. Either people like her or they do not - everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
I think she is a great example to bird lovers everywhere.
I have met Sir David Attenbrough in real life, and he is a true master of bird and wildlife in his own unique way. Sir Terry Pratchett, yes, a great author in his own right.

I also like Kate very much, but I do think she missed a great opportunity when she was in her garden adding an extra fat ball to her feeder. She could have made a point about warning folk to remove any netting first.
I liked the Cranes walking about round Simon!
Cheers, Linda.

Sparrow lol we are going to have to call you Sparrowhawk eyes!
I never noticed she left the netting on the fatballs.
Love Kate, not least because she doesn't straighten her hair!
Left over chestnuts were popular in my garden, though mainly with the starlings. I've also cleaned bacon fat from the grill with bread I put out - helps keep drains clean too!
Happy New Year to everyone! XX

I didn't think there was any netting on them. As far as I could see they were net-free.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
