Recentley spotted 14 Magpies in a tree in my garden
One for Sorrow Two for joy Three for a girl Four for a boy Five for silver Six for gold Seven for a secret never to be told Eight for a wish Nine for a kiss Ten a surprise you should be careful not to miss Eleven for health Twelve for wealth Thirteen beware it's the devil himself.
Does anyone know what 14 means?? There were 2 more out of sight of the camera as well!
Regards

Sorry cant answer you, but hope it's something good!
This thread has at least answered a question mine - was out running on the moors near banwell (n. Som.) A few weeks back, and saw 13 gathered around a tree andthough i'm not the superstitious type if i worried about it for the rest of the day.
Now i can relax in the knowledge that i'm doomed....
Don't think it went that far, and, now they are so common the poem would be neverending ha ha.
An optimist sees the beauty of the complete rose.A pessimist sees only the thorn .
I have looked and it goes to 10 or there abouts.
