I know it's still a bit early to think about it - but as Kaitlin's birthday also happens to fall on xmas day (I know, terrible timing !) I always start preparing early !
So what's on your wish list ? What would you have, anything at all and money was no object ?
Mine is quite easy and involves no money whatsoever (which is a bonus cos I'm skint !) I want time - time to do all the things I want without having to sacrifice time with the kids or sleep !
What about you ? What would be the best gift ever ? (and your reasons too cos I'm nosey !)
The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
It might sound a bit predictable, but
to see the world's resources shared, peace among all peoples and a safe environment for mankind and wildlife.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
I was going to say something else, but after reading Original Goldfinch's wish, I think I will go with that too (much less self self self than my original one!) - lovely thought Original Goldfinch :)

Hi
I think I would like to see a lot less greed in the world and a lot more conciousness and care for the rest
of the non human life on this planet.

Great replies from everyone here. I think a special bit of something towards our birds, and environment would not go wrong at all. It is good that we think that way.
A thought for something like a birdie xmas stocking to hang in the back garden as if it was made for the birds in mind
I do not have family in the UK. Most of them live abroad so I am really my own person at Xmas along with Dave (his family are no longer alive - 4 member died in 2 years)
So we are left to do as we please.
I am sorry to hear about your son's job Lucybob and I hope that 2010 gives him other opportunies.
The thing I would like the most is to continue to be happy in what I do, and continue enjoying what life offers - and share everything with Dave, and nature too.

All I want for Christmas is a new keyring for my car keys! One that doesn't dangle around too much and hit my knees when I'm driving :)
I'm not going to say the old predictable "peace on earth", "happiness for all" etc. etc., because in my mind we should be hoping and endeavouring for that every single day, not just at Christmas.
Ideally - for every single country in this world to take conservation seriously and take action to save what precious land remains and all the species associated with it. I include seas in that too!
For me (selfishly): if money were no object, a 3 month (or maybe longer!!) trip in a small motorhome around Scotland! (Canada would be nice too!)

For the people I love: good health and an enduring sense of humor.
For me: A small travel trailer so I can drive around the western states of the U.S. for weeks at a time :-))

Marjus: Let's save our pennies and meet in Victoria, British Columbia!!
Can I join in too, Annette & MarJus!! Keep saying to Husband, I want to tour Canada in a "Winnebago!" How nice to just travel on a whim, and say 'this is a good place to stop, let's stay here for few days' & then later pootle on to somewhere else, as the fancy takes.
Seriously, had to agree with the first post from Happy Hippy - there is just never enough time in the day, is there? Plus of course, the older you get the more you value your health and realise that its the Most Important thing in life, really. So, my stocking would have Longer Days and Good Health for all I know and Love.
Oh I would love to! But not only would I need to save the pennies, but again, it's down to time! Don't think I could take 3 months off of work... I WILL get there one day though!! Canada I mean! As for Scotland, I make the most of it by spending a week up there each year!! Skye 3 times (love it there!!), Perthshire this year and Mull next year!! :-)
As for time, I agree so much! It goes SO quickly! Always think it's unfair that it's the people that are miserable and bored that say that time goes slowly for them!!! ;-)
