Tea, anyone?

Anyone for a cuppa? I see the tea room is now open!

Coffee is just as bad, and the teeth yeowww LOL

If you smoke it gets worse in the teeth department (and I do not smoke!)

My dad did and his teeth where heavily stained.

  • I'm with nestbox on the tea thing! Just a good cup of ordinary tea will do me! I drink gallons of it too!! None of this fancy stuff and earl grey... yuck!!

  • I used to drink tea when I lived at home but never really liked it. I think my mum made it with too much milk for my taste.

Once I was married I started drinking coffee and was lucky enough to convert my husband.  Now my daughter drinks tea but will have a coffee now and again.  If I drink tea now I get indegestion.  My mum drank tea all the time but if she was ill she couldn't drink it.      Makes me wonder.

A drink I enjoy now is hot rhubarb and ginger cordial.  I also love Horlicks but don't drink that very often because of the calories.

My favourite pudding is Creme Brulee.   My favourite cakes are vanilla slices, chocolate eclairs, Japs and anything with chocolate.  My favourite meet is lamb and I love all fish.  Maybe I should be an osprey in my next life.

  • What are Japs, please

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • I think they're a sort of replacement for Kunzle cakes, but I might be wrong...

The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.

The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

  • I found a recipe for Jap cakes on this site but have never made them,  I might give them a try and see how I get on.

Squirrel on that page they are talking about liking both Japs and Kunzle cakes so musn't be the same.  I've never had Kunzle cakes      lol

  • Has "Tea anyone?" been abandoned?  We had lovely cake and scones (with strawberry jam) at the Roy Dennis talk at Wigtown Book Fair on Monday.  Yesterday I had a tasty piece of lemon and ginger (love ginger!) cheesecake in the local High Street!  Today I'm back to the usual yoghurt and fresh fruit - still getting excellent Scottish raspberries.

  • Cor, you're making my mouth water!! I absolutely love cheesecake!! Especially lemon (with or without ginger!). My last 'yummies' were when I was on holiday in Cornwall at the beginning of September when deserts were accompanied with Cornish clotted! Don't tend to have deserts at home!

  • Our yoghourt and fruit dessert is a concession to OH, who would really prefer "pudding" (preferably sticky toffee)  - he doesn't think he has finished a meal until he has had something sweet !
