Woodpecker

We had a woodpecker visit our feeder today, we often get a male and a female greater spotted visit. Today however the visitor in question seemed to me like a GSW but not if that makes sense, usually their crisp black and white is unmistakable but this one is a pinkish brown where the white would be. They did have a bright red patch under the tail, the usual black markings, the head patch was fully black and there was some barring on the wings. My first thought is to put it down as a juvenile but after a google I couldn’t find anything to tell me that in black and white so here I am asking for help! I know everything points to a GSW, is the brownish colour a common thing in juveniles? I’ll up load photos. Thanks in advance!
