Hi, I live next to a small airfield that has recently been decommissioned. The owners are planning to return it to farmland. The problem is that there are quite a large amount of Skylarks that nest there. I'm so worried about them. The sound in summer is beautiful and I'm dreading the thought that they will lose their nesting site. Is there anything that can be done? I know nothing about Skylarks really - will they move on or will it be curtains for this group?
Is there a planning application you can respond to? If not, perhaps you could see if a local RSPB group or Wildlife Trust group would be interested in helping you, perhaps assessing the wildlife value of the site (PDF)
Hi Adam
Nice to see someone from the RSPB back joining us as we have been abandoned again for several months after the wonderful upgrade!!!
I know this may not be your field but,
Is it possible you could look into why the friendship request alert isn't working . Or pass on to the appropriate person for investigation, I know the community ain't a prioritybiut us members like it and a little help would be nice.
Many thanks
Linda
