I have wrens nesting in a former swift nest near my back door. There seems to be one chick in there and it has been chirping since I got home from work, over an hour ago, with no sign of the parents. Is this likely to be abandoned and what, if anything, should I do?
thanks
Rich
Nothing for now ... I think you should give it more time before you think abandonment, may be having trouble finding enough suitable food!

Nothing - it is illegal to interfere - parents may also be about and practicing a bit of tough love to try to encourage it to fledge

Thanks for the messages. There are two chick's, one has left the nest, the other is in and out. The parents will be nearby I'm sure.
Thanks for the update, seems all will be fine!
