I've been mesmerized by this bird each time it comes by, and today I set up a camera and happened to see if swoop in. I was able to grab this video. It's a Jay isn't it?

I love their flash of blue - they can get quite vocal in the autumn - if you put some acorns or chestnuts out in October they will cache them around the garden
Anything I can do now to get this Jay to bring their friends? Will gladly put out acorns and chestnuts. Although the squirrels will no doubt have first dibs!

So then you get the joy of watching the Jay watching the squirrels and working out where the squirrels are hiding the good supplies - squirrels have shocking memories while Jays will have mapped every cache
Couple of years ago where we then lived, we had a Jay. It got to know 'feeding time' and would hang around waiting for the nuts. within a few weeks we then had four vocal jays at 'feeding time'.
