Hi everyone, first year of putting up a nestbox for a blue tit family. I have watched others previously over last couple of years so understand some of tbe behaviours. 2 fledged this morning Nd within couple of hours they were up onto the tree and flying about. There is obviously at least one more in the nest box chriping away but i have seen parents fo while, i know sometimes there can be a day between fledglings but is there ever a case not to return for them at all?
Very pleased to hear of a successful Blue Tit nest after a string of tragedies that have been reported on here in recent weeks ... can only think of parent birds trying to entice this last chick out by withholding food or being spooked or predated as a reason not to return ... maybe others have more ideas?

Finally i have just seen one of the parents return a couple of times with food. Fingers crossed the remaining chick/s can safely fledge tomorrow, i always have my eye out because my house cats won’t be going in the back garden until they are somewhere safe
Pleased to hear that you have seen parent birds and good on you for keeping your cats confined until fledglings are safely away
