Northern Lights last night over my home village.
How lucky you were Bob, didn't see any in East Kent!

Lovely aurora borealis captures Bob, one of natures wonders. Strange how the colours show up better on a camera shot rather than the naked eye.

I think its mainly because we can long exposure on the camera as well as the sensor sensitivity. What was impressive last night was that you could see colour with the naked eye for a long time. These are shot in RAW and have had no processing on the sky at all, today due the long exposures. I have seen a lot of pictures where the saturation slider has been used extensively.
Certainly a sight to behold. Forgot to look last night though don't know if i could see from SW. Devon. Great pics by the way.
Was mentioned on another thread that there were sightings from Dorset ...

Super photos Bob. I haven't been lucky enough to see them. I am currently in Buxton for a a few days with my sister as her husband is critically ill in hospital. I did look out at 12.00 and 5.00am as the Aurora app showed sightings to within 10 miles of us, but no joy. Good to see your photos :-)
