My input after keeping away for a number of days, then briefly popping on a few times in last two.....I naively/incorrectly wrote to someone last week that I doubted we'd notice any difference with the change!
Credits:-
1) Broken links (that I knew of) have gone.
2) A member of staff is available for feedback, is responding, and has both the patience of a saint and is between a rock and a hard place.
Debits:-
1) Architecture. It was flagged well over a decade ago that the home page format doesn't work. It still doesn't. Webcam commentary and ospreys have proved popular, but need one entry to link off........not a free for all of filling most recent entries every Spring-Autumn.
2) UAT - unless and until it is used, I can only keep repeating, rollouts/upgrades will be a mess. Implementers testing their own work doesn't work....there is a reason why UAT was introduced and taken up across the globe.
There are 3) onwards but they pale into complete irrelevance compared to 1) and 2) and time should be spent entirely on those before, let's be honest, messing about with 3) onwards commences.
Any other organisation would have 'backed out' the change. A lot quicker and easier......assuming the prep was done correctly prior to the rollout.
Hi stealthybutnotthatstealthy thank you for your feedback. I'm currently consolidating the immediate issues but will be reaching out to you all soon to understand more on how the homepage could better serve you. Thank you
'Fraid I don't understand this new update. How to I get to the current part of a thread? I get a notification that someone has posted, then when I open it I am at the beginning of a 6 year old thread - do I have to scroll all the way through? There is no page arrows. I was going to post in Shadows and Reflections and again it started at the beginning and I had to keep clicking 'More' to get to the end, then There wasn't a reply button - just a reply to the last poster or to the last person who replied to that post. Am I missing something?
Hi BD, the way to start a new post to be seen at the of comments is to use the reply button located directly under the first post in whichever thread you want to use ... I will go to the thread you mention and post something for you to see how it's done

Thanks I will go there
Hi Billysdad - currently you can use the options at the top of the thread to switch to 'newest' that will then take you to the newest post. However, we know this isn't always ideal and that responding to the latest post isn't what is needed. I have taken on board the feedback given and I apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you - Kylie
Hi Kylie, could you please tell me where that 'options' button is please. Thank you for your help.
Hi Billysdad - if you scroll to the top of the thread - underneath 'top replies' you should see 3 options - 'oldest', 'votes' and 'newest' which I have highlighted in yellow for you.
Thank you, but still no joy. I can't find those options. If I select 'Chat'. they aren't there. If I then select 'Tea Rooms', nothing, then if I select 'Reflections or Shadows', I begin 6 years ago, but still no 'Oldest Votes Newes't Option'. I never see the'Top Replies'.
Hi Billysdad - are you trying to start a new thread e.g. new thread within 'chat' or respond to an existing one e.g. this thread?
I just want to read the latest post in a thread. I get a notification saying that someone has responded to something that I have posted in, then when I click to view online I go right back to the start - possibly 6 years ago, requiring me to scroll pages and pages.
