Hi. I was reading about the RSPB opening a site near Trimingham in Norfolk where Bee Eaters were nesting last year. Does anyone know if there are plans to open the site this year and if so what time of the year it would be likely to open. Thanks
It will be only opened if Bee Eaters return to nest again. The land thar the Bee Eater have nested the last 2 years are not owned or leased by the RSPB The owner or owners allow members of the public by an arrangement with the RSPB while the Bee Eaters have nested/bred over the last 2 years. But if the Bee Eaters do return again to same land in 2024. I suppose a similar arrangement will happen. There has been a car park charge which was £5.00 which is fair as the Bee Eaters nested on private land.
