A belated Happy New Year to all.
After what was another good year, under somewhat challenging weather conditions for many of us, the thread certainly delivered some fabulous photos, so to kickstart 2024 off, I managed, (only just though) to get my first sunrise of 2024.
For those who want to look back here's the link for "Sunrises and Sunsets 2023: Share your photos here...."

and to try and put a bit of sparkle, using the Star 6 filter.

You're welcome, Fingers crossed for a good many more throughout 2024.
Certainly hope to share in more lovely pics as I don't get any horizon views here due to living 60ft down in a chalk quarry, great expanse of bright sky though on sunny days! And a good 5°C warmer than the 'outside world'

Though my house is in a dip, we're not so deep down, but there's more than enough buildings around us to block out a full sunrise, which is why I don't get many from home, though the sky can deliver some colourful cloud images. Currently sunrise times are roughly from 08:10 - 08:05 and sunset times are 16:20 - 16:30 , depending on where you are.
Get to know an area, or two, and you will find the best times to take a photo. For me, Baddesley is around 25-30 mins after sunrise time, Brandon is around 15 mins after sunrise time.
.
This week could see many (particularly south of the Manchester/Sheffield area) getting some good colourful photos, particularly if the countryside isn't too far to travel.

Thank you.
Sunrise
The morning sun casting its orange glow over the reedbeds, where earlier the starlings had been roosting.
Greylag geese, catching the orange glow of the morning sun, off for their breakie, the pools were still quite frozen at this time, though the thaw had slowly started....
Tonight's glorious sunset viewed from our apartment balcony
